This is a reverse-engineered replacement for the Hybrid Module in the Macintosh Portable (non-backlit version). This design has been tested on the tester / downstream board described here, in two of my M5120 Macintosh Portables, and on some community member M5120s for functionality.
Please run through the steps on this page to see if your Portable has the expected resistance and voltage measurements. If any of the surrounding traces or hardware has been damaged, a replacement hybrid may do more harm than good.
After installation, take care to watch the voltage on Q16’s middle pin (this is the system’s main 5v rail). If this spikes above about 5.3 volts, there can be trouble. Also watch the A/D line voltage (top left pin of the hybrid with reference to the product image). This should not go above 5v, ever.
